Abstract

The article is devoted to the description and analysis of the cognitive aspects of polysemantic verbs of the modern Russian language. The views of a number of linguists on the phenomenon of polysemy, including domestic researchers, are given. Polysemy has repeatedly become the object of research in cognitive linguistics and a number of other related sciences, which once again emphasizes the relevance of this study. The article gives a schematic description of three types of polysemy (chain, radial and radial-chain), as well as the cognitive features of the verb love.
