THE ROLE OF AUTHENTIC MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES IN DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ CREATIVE POTENTIAL
Abstract
In modern education, the development of students’ creative potential is considered one of the key goals of effective teaching. Creativity is not viewed as an inborn talent but as a skill that can be developed through appropriate educational approaches. This article discusses the role of authentic materials and teaching techniques in developing students’ creative potential, particularly in foreign language education. Authentic materials, such as real-life texts, media resources, and digital content, expose learners to natural language use and meaningful contexts. The article analyzes theoretical views on creativity, explains the concept of authentic materials, and highlights practical techniques for their classroom use. It is argued that authentic materials increase students’ motivation, encourage creative thinking, and support learner autonomy. The article concludes that the regular and purposeful use of authentic materials plays an important role in enhancing students’ creativity and preparing them for real-life communication.
