DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACQUIRING ENGLISH AS A NATIVE LANGUAGE VS. LEARNING IT AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Abstract
This article looks into the differences in factors like environment, instruction, and age that impact the development of language. The author employs a comparative analysis based on literature and pedagogical observations to shed […] light on the differences in fluency levels and grammar and pronunciation accuracy. The findings show that the acquisition of native language is largely automatic and effortless as opposed to the second language which is more dependent on many factors like age, motivation, and the set instructional strategies.
