Abstract

This article analyzes the significance of modern physiological monitoring technologies used in the assessment of athletes’ functional status. Theoretical foundations of sports physiology, mechanisms of adaptation to physical exercise, functional capabilities of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, heart rate variability (HRV), cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), lactate diagnostics, and methods for evaluating neuromuscular function are discussed. The study demonstrates that comprehensive assessment of functional status enables the individualization of training programs, prevention of excessive physiological strain, optimization of recovery processes, and enhancement of athletic performance.
