PROSPECTS FOR THE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LANGUAGE TEACHING AT HIGHER EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS IN UZBEKISTAN
Abstract
The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is transforming higher education worldwide, creating new opportunities for language teaching and learning. In Uzbekistan, the modernization of higher education and the implementation of digital transformation strategies have accelerated the integration of AI-based tools into educational practice. This study examines the prospects of artificial intelligence in language education at higher education institutions of Uzbekistan. The research employs analytical, comparative, and descriptive methods to investigate the current state of AI implementation, its pedagogical potential, and challenges associated with its adoption. The findings indicate that AI technologies contribute to personalized learning, adaptive assessment, automated feedback, and the development of communicative competencies. At the same time, issues related to digital literacy, ethical concerns, data security, and teacher preparedness remain significant barriers. The study concludes that the successful integration of AI into language education requires a balanced approach combining technological innovation, pedagogical expertise, and institutional support.
