Abstract

According to their origin, there are two large groups of neologisms: German lexemes and hybrid lexemes. These two groups are represented in large numbers. German neo-semanticisms are understood to mean those that consist of grassroots German tribes (das Auseinanderdriften, das Fünfsternhaus, die Realwirtschaft, unternehmensberaten).  Most neoplasms are of German origin (54%). Hybrid formations consist of basic foreign and German morphemes (der Freundschafts-Joint, die Langzeit-Multiplayer-Spiele, der 60-Stunden-Job, der Online-Auftritt). Hybrid neoplasms are also represented in large numbers (46%). The overwhelming majority of the borrowed component comes from the English language and is found both in the first and in the second link (der Cola + der Trinker → der Colatrinker, mega + stark → megastark).
