Abstract

Implementing a methodology for developing students' ability to learn from synonyms not only enhances language proficiency but also fosters critical thinking, cultural awareness, creativity, metacognitive skills, and interdisciplinary learning. This holistic approach prepares students to navigate complex linguistic and cultural landscapes, equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in academia, career, and beyond. Research has shown that actively engaging with synonyms can lead to improvements in vocabulary acquisition and retention. A study published in the journal language learning found that learners who were exposed to synonyms in context showed greater gains in vocabulary knowledge compared to those who were not exposed to synonyms
