Abstract

This article delves into the intricate world of phraseological units, focusing on expressions that incorporate the concept of friendship in both English and Uzbek languages. Friendship, being a universal and culturally significant notion, plays a pivotal role in shaping language and communication. Through a comparative analysis of phraseological units in these two languages, the study aims to uncover the diverse linguistic manifestations of friendship-related expressions, shedding light on the cultural nuances embedded within these idiomatic constructs. Drawing on a comprehensive corpus of authentic language samples, the research explores the semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic dimensions of such phraseological units, providing valuable insights into how speakers of English and Uzbek conceptualize and articulate the concept of friendship. The findings contribute not only to the field of phraseology but also enhance our understanding of the sociocultural aspects influencing language use in different linguistic communities.
