FUNCTIONING OF BORROWED WORDS OF ENGLISH ORIGIN IN UZBEK POLITICAL TEXTS

Abstract

The given article explores the role and adaptation of English borrowings in Uzbek political texts. It examines how English words are integrated into the Uzbek language, particularly within the political discourse, where they often undergo semantic and phonological changes to align with Uzbek linguistic norms. The study identifies three main processes of adaptation: localization, hybridization, and semantic shifts, demonstrating how borrowed English terms are adapted to fit the Uzbek cultural and political context. Additionally, the article highlights the functional role of these loanwords, which contribute to the expansion of Uzbek political vocabulary, enrich stylistic expressiveness, and form new word-formation models. English borrowings are shown to enhance political communication, making it more modern and globally oriented, while also influencing public perception. Finally, the study provides a comparative analysis of English and Uzbek political terminology, highlighting the shifts in meaning and usage that occur due to cultural and contextual factors. The research underscores the importance of English loanwords in shaping modern Uzbek political language and discourse.
