Abstract

Proverbs are concise, traditional sayings that encapsulate the wisdom, values, and cultural expressions of societies. They function as vehicles for transmitting knowledge, moral lessons, and common truths in a way that resonates with a community’s worldview. This paper presents a comparative analysis of proverbs in English and Uzbek, exploring the similarities and differences in their structure, meanings, and cultural significance. By examining the underlying themes, linguistic nuances, and social contexts, we aim to illuminate how proverbs serve as reflections of distinct cultural identities while also highlighting universal human experiences.
